In this article, we will inform you about different hostels available for boys and girls. As you know Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) is top 5 university in India and lakhs of aspirants apply for admission every year. Only few thousand student gets admission in Jamia. But not all selected student gets hostel due to unavailability of hostel rooms. There are many hostels in Jamia but they are not sufficient for all students.

There are two halls of Boys residence 1) MMA Jauhar Hall, 2) Dr. Zakir Husain Hall consisting of eight hostels accommodating about 2220 students:

According to hosteliers, all room in Dr. Zakir Hussain Hall is better than other hostel.

The JMI boys hostel also offers a wide range of facilities. Like sports, i.e., football, basketball, cricket, or even table tennis,etc. Allows you to play with your hostel-mates and helps you in networking and staying fit.
In-door games like, Table tennis, Carrom opens when there is competition.

Timing: There is strict timing in girls hostel. Last time for entry in Girls hostel is 10 p.m (22:00). Attendance will be recorded at 10:00 pm in the evening during the roll call by the Care-taker. In case a resident fails to mark her attendance in time disciplinary action will be taken against her
Outside Entry: No boys entry or outsider entry in girls hostel.
Hall Function: The Jamia girls Hostel organizes many events and functions in Hall. Cultural nights, talent shows and other hall functions always happening there. It provides opportunity to showcase skills, talent and public speaking. Programs and decoration happens every year.
Ragging in all its forms is totally banned in the premises of Hostel and Campus. Any student
found indulging in Ragging will be expelled.

Eligibility
- Only bonafide students of full time courses. Students of Part-time and Evening courses are not eligible for hostel accommodation.
- And Applicants must have secured a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate in the last qualifying examination

What are the Documents Required for applying for the Jamia Millia Islamia hostel?
- Fee receipt of admission to the course. (given at the time of admission)
- Mark-sheets of all examinations.
- Sports (state, national level), NCC (A,B,C certificate).
- Copy of Aadhaar card/Voter card/passport/Ration Card for Residents of J&K and North East.
- Document supporting Economically Weaker Section.
- Caste certificate (If applied).
- Xerox copy of all above documents.
- 2 Recent photographs.
- Copy of hostel application form. (which is applied online at mj.jmi.ac.in)
