About Jamia M.A. English
English has been taught in Jamia Millia Islamia since its inception in 1920. Syed Raouf Pasha, who taught English language and D. G. Ibsen, who taught Journalism, were Jamia’s first English teachers.
The Department has been offering instruction for the award of the degrees of B. A. Honours (since 1975), M. A. (since 1983), M. Phil. (since 1993) and Ph. D (since 1988).
Jamia provides two years course in Master of English:
Jamia has 2 years course of Masters of Arts in English i.e., M.A. (English). Its paper code is M05.

MA English Eligibility Criteria for Jamia Millia Islamia
- B.A. / B.Sc. or B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com. (Hons.) Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks in aggregate OR in the subject concerned.
Jamia M.A English Exam Test Centre
Entrance Tests shall be conducted at 7 Cities across India and at Jamia Campus.
For MA English (M05) : Delhi, Lucknow, Kolkata, Guwahati, Patna, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram.
JMI MA English Admit Card
