About Jamia M.A. Political Science
The Department started its journey in 1977 with its first group of postgraduate students. Over time, it grew steadily by introducing new courses and research programs, helping it stand out and explore new areas in academics.
The Department has hired highly qualified faculty members, both men and women, who specialize in different areas of Political Science. It is the largest department in the Social Science faculty, offering one undergraduate and three postgraduate degree programs. Since 2010-11, the Department has switched to a semester system for its M.A. programs in Political Science, Human Rights, and Public Administration. It also has a strong Ph.D. program, with around 60 research scholars currently enrolled.
Apart from regular classes, the Department organizes seminars, panel discussions, workshops, guest lectures, and study tours for students throughout the year. It also has an active Students Association and a well-equipped Departmental Library.
The M.A. in Political Science at Jamia Millia Islamia is very popular and attracts students from all over India and other countries.
Jamia provides two years course in Master of Political Science:
Jamia has 2 years course of Masters of Arts in Political Science i.e., M.A. (Political Science). Its paper code is M09.
